For those of you that do not know me my names Danni Bradshaw and I am a bikini fitness competitor competing in the UKBFF championship.
Last year I decided to turn my love for the gym and training into something worth working for and decided I wanted to step on stage. I have always been interested in fitness as with the ever growing industry I was inspired everyday by girls on Instagram and social media which made me want to work hard to achieve my dream of stepping on stage!
I started training under showgirl fitness – being coached by Michelle Brannan IFBB Pro In March 2016 and after a lot of blood sweat and tears by August 16 I was ready to step on stage at the UKBFF North East Championships. It was my first ever competition and I was so proud to have even made it there, I stepped off stage with that 1st place trophy and North East U163 Champion which gave me a invitation to compete in the British Finals. Getting to the point of being ready to step on stage is a huge achievement for anybody and I have so much respect for anybody in the bodybuilding industry as it takes so much time and dedication to get there. It’s not just going to the gym and eating healthy – It’s a new way of life which can be mentally and physically demanding at times. Spending hours in the gym, missing social events, carrying your daily food around with you, weighing everything you eat- you sometimes think is it worth it? But when you see the results and you are working towards something you are so passionate about it all becomes a way of life and I’d have it no other way!
At the British Championships I placed top 10 out of 38 girls which to me was a surreal experience to be standing on stage for the 2nd time next to some of the girls that I had followed and that Inspired to me to be there in the first place was a huge achievement. I ended the 2016 season competing at UKBFF Sugars where I placed 4th in a tough line up! Just missing out of the top 3 has given me more drive and determination for the 2017 season.
My main goal this year is to compete internationally and with a positive mind set, hard work and lots of posing practise I’m hoping that I can achieve this! Even now writing this I cannot believe how far I have come! I started out training just to see if I could maybe one day look like those girls I followed on Instagram and maybe one day step on stage….I still have to pinch myself when I look at the achievements I have made in under a year and that my ‘dream’ is now a reality. There is no words to describe the life of competing the highs/the lows/the excitement/the new friends I have made- all I can say is that it has changed my life and I will never look back!
My next competition in 8 weeks time – UKBFF Nationals at the Liverpool Echo Arena. I have been training hard and with the help of my coach we have been working on improvements to bring the best package I can to the stage. I can’t wait to be all tanned & glammed up in my sparkle bikini and take to the stage and show all that I have been working for.
If you don’t already make sure you follow me on my social media sites below as I would love you to be part of my fitness journey!
